Quality Improvement Plan
The updated ADH Strategic Plan will reflect both the State Health Assessment and the State Health Improvement Plan and establish ADH’s strategic priorities using measurable and time bound goals and objectives.
In late 2019 and early 2020, ADH held a five-month long exercise, involving over 70 people from ADH and community organizations to identify strategic priorities for the agency to update the 2016-2019 Strategic Plan. The exercise began with the results of a Strategic Planning Survey that all ADH employees had a chance to respond to. The employees were asked to provide input on what health outcomes and health behaviors the agency should focus on. With this feedback as a starting point, participants in the strategic planning exercise drew from the draft State Health Assessment 2020 and identified eight primary focus areas. This next step of this exercise was the identification of measurable objectives and work plans to operationalize the established goals.
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Agency’s immediate priorities changed. The leadership decided to develop an interim strategic plan to provide direction to the ongoing mitigation of the impact of COVID-19 pandemic. The focus of this interim plan may be different but many of the issues identified during the development of the State Health Assessment and the strategic planning exercise will be reflected in the interim COVID-19 Strategic Plan.
