Registry of all immunizations given to Arkansas children. Records of private providers' immunizations will be added to the registry.

Certification of hospitals, home health agencies, independent laboratories, ambulatory surgery centers, portable x-ray facilities, Clinical Lab Improvement Act facilities, hospices, swing beds, outpatient physical therapy facilities, independent practicing physical therapists, Prospective Payment Systems (PPS)-rehabs, PPS-psychiatric centers, alcohol/drug abuse treatment centers, and CORF's (Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facilities) to receive Medicare reimbursement.
Minority Health
Coordination and encouragement of the development of policies, programs and activities for the improvement of the health of minority populations.
Newborn Hearing Screen Program
Data collection and analysis of infants screened for risk factors associated with hearing loss and/or tested for progressive hearing loss. Technical assistance and training in the area of infant hearing screening.
Nuclear Planning and Response
Technical assistance to local governments in the development and implementation of radiological emergency response planning for incidents involving Arkansas Nuclear One; training of emergency workers in a five county area; and environmental monitoring activities.
Pharmacy Services
Provision of information and assistance on drug recalls from Food and Drug Administration; drug destruction; regulation and investigation of legitimate drug handlers to determine accountability; scheduling of controlled drugs according to Arkansas law; and on-site investigation of drug storage areas in event of man-made or natural disasters.

Assistance to communities and Community Health Centers to improve access to primary care services.

Statewide product investigations, retail inspections and surveillance, and recall effectiveness checks under contract with Federal Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Rural Health
Assistance to rural communities in identifying and implementing solutions to health care access problems, and rural health systems development.
Radiologic Technology Licensure
All persons, other than Licensed Practitioners and others exempted by law, who administer ionizing radiation to human beings are required to be licensed by July 30, 2000.  License fees are charged.
Teenage Pregnancy/Unwanted Birth Prevention
Technical assistance and funding to local community coalitions involved in unwed teenage pregnancy prevention.
Traumatic Brain Injury Registry
Referrals of persons with traumatic brain injury (TBI) to possible case management. Provides information to policy makers and advocacy groups and documents the incidence of traumatic head injuries as well as the functional outcomes and the need of coordinated services.
Utilization Review
Regulation of medical review activities of health insurers, health maintenance organizations, third party administrators, managed care plans and any other entities offering health care utilization review, contracts or benefits.
Vision Screening
Instruction in screening guidelines and procedures, use of equipment, rescreening, referrals and follow-up provided to school nurses, public health nurses, clinic aides and any screening personnel requesting such services.
Vital Records FAQs
Registering, filing, storing, preserving and issuing certificates; training vital record originators; and distribution of forms for registering birth and death certificates.
Youth Violence Prevention
Administration of grant funding through the Common Ground Committee to local organizations for innovative local programs addressing the issues of Youth Violence Prevention.
