Department Provides Update on West Nile Virus

For Wednesday, November 13, 2002

Little Rock - The Arkansas Department of Health is reporting one confirmed case of West Nile virus in a human for Jefferson County. The Jefferson County case was confirmed through testing by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The Department is also reporting that Fulton County has NOT tested positive for birds with West Nile virus. West Nile virus has been recorded in birds in 67 of 75 counties.
