Tuesday,
November 30, the Arkansas Department of Health will
discontinue its flu vaccine shortage hotline. Activated
on October 20 in response to a nationwide shortage of
vaccine this year, the hotline logged 5,770 calls by
November 23. At its peak, the day of the statewide
vaccination effort, the hotline received 509
calls.
The hotline is currently averaging less than 30 calls
per day.
Arkansans
may continue to call 501-661-2169 from
8 a.m.
to
4:30 p.m.
weekdays for information about flu vaccine availability.
