Little Rock -- The Arkansas Department of Health is alerting the public that some local health clinics are closed today in order to provide flu shots to high-risk Arkansans. Those clinics that are open are providing flu shots only.
Dr. Joseph Bates, ADH Chief Medical Officer, states, “We realize that many Arkansans would like to receive services such as WIC and maternity from various local health units. We are sorry that we are unable to provide these services today. In order to vaccinate roughly 59,000 Arkansans statewide, we have had to temporarily suspend services other than the provision of flu shots. Local health units that are closed will be open for business either after the flu clinics close today or by 8:00 a.m. tomorrow.”
