Little
Rock—The Tobacco Prevention and Education Program
recently released a Request for Proposal titled "Local
Coalition and Community-based Programs: Building/Expanding
Infrastructure."
Funding
is available through Arkansas’ Master Tobacco Settlement
revenue for capacity building school-based tobacco prevention.
With this funding community
coalitions will develop, implement, and evaluate community
prevention campaigns.
Community

These community prevention campaigns will result in
getting both youth and adults
involved in community tobacco prevention activities,
as well as in developing
policies that protect the public from exposure to tobacco
and protect our youth from the persistent influence
of the tobacco industry.
Applications

workshop will be conducted August 22, 2002. A mandatory
Letter of Intent is due by August 30, 2002. The full
