Mission
Statement
The
mission of the Arkansas Injury Prevention Coalition is to
reduce injury in Arkansas through support of collaborative
injury prevention activities.
Welcome
to the website of the
Arkansas Injury Prevention Coalition (AIPC) sponsored by the
Arkansas Department of Health (ADH). We hope your visit to
these pages will give you resources to help prevent injuries
of all types to you, your family, and your local community.
The goal of this website is to provide a single place for
the latest data and state-of-the-art practices to prevent
injuries. We will be updating the site quarterly to keep you
advised of current activities and events in injury
prevention.
Paid for by a grant from the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (http://www.cdc.gov/ncipc/whatsnew/whatnew.htm
) or www.cdc.gov/spanish/lesiones.htm,
(Arkansas Risk Factors and
Solutions -PDF Spanish
version)the purpose of the program is to reduce the burden of injury
in the state. This burden of injury affects many Arkansans
both personally and financially. Since Arkansas ranks much
higher (over 40%) in both fatal and non-fatal injury than most
states, the weight of this problem is critical.
To lower Arkansas’ injury
rates, it takes many partners. The AIPC is an alliance formed
to prevent injury by using various approaches. Each partner
provides information on their particular area of injury. Our
many partners will produce a plan to address the problem
statewide. The plan will be based on Arkansas data and state
and national goals, with input from the citizens of Arkansas.
