H1N1 Information | Seasonal Flu Information
Flu is serious and can cause illness in any age group.
Don't be confused about the regular seasonal flu and the novel (new) H1N1 influenza A (Swine Flu). This flu season, take the same basic steps to be prepared for all types of flu.
All Arkansans are encouraged to get a seasonal flu shot each year.
The best time to get a shot is between mid-October and mid-November. The seasonal flu shot WILL NOT protect you against the (new) H1N1 flu.
A vaccine for the new H1N1 flu will also be available.
There will be enough of the H1N1 flu shots for all priority groups and anyone else who wants one.
A flu shot will not give you the flu. Seasonal flu shots and H1N1 flu shots are not mandatory.
There will be no charge to you for the flu shot at our mass flu clinics, but please bring your insurance, Medicare and/or Medicaid cards with you if you have one. Seasonal flu vaccinations provided at our local health units will be $20.Check here in the upcoming weeks for sites/dates/times near you.
