What is the Arkansas child restraint law? |
| All children under the age
of four should be properly restrained in an approved child safety seat. All children
between the age of four and five should be properly restrained in an approved child safety
seat or seat belt. The fine for not complying with the law will result in a fine between
$25 and $100. When installed and used correctly, child safety seats are extremely
effective, reducing the risk of death and serious injury by 70%. Lap/shoulder belt use
reduce the risk of death by 50%. |

| Install smoke detectors on
every level of your home, inside each bedroom, and outside each bedroom area. The chances
of dying in a fire are cut in half by the presence of a working smoke detector. Test your
smoke detector once a month and change the batteries at least once a year. |

What is a safe temperature for my hot water
heater? |
| Water heaters should be set
no higher than 120 F to prevent scald burns. If your water heater does not have a degrees
control, set your water heater at low or warm. |
