Can you get lead poisoning from vinyl miniblinds?

Children under six years of age can get lead poisoning from vinyl miniblinds, children six and over the risk is minimal.
Should I replace my vinyl miniblinds?
If you have a child six years or under you should replace your miniblinds with new ones. If your child is over six years you do not need to replace them. The new m iniblinds should not have lead them and may be marked on the box. If you are uncertain ask a sales person for help. 

How do I know if my child has lead poisoning?

The only sure way to know is to have a blood test performed. The test is a simple finger stick, but should be performed by your physician.
How can I protect myself and family from getting lead poisoning?
Studies show proper diet and nutrition helps to prevent lead poisoning. A diet high in Iron, calcium, and vitam in C. A full stomach makes it harder for the lead to be absorbed into the stomach. Remember to always wash your child's hands before eating and playing outside with dirt. If the adult works in an industry that deals with lead it is important to change clothes before leaving work or coming home.

Lead paint is found in exterior and interior surfaces such as, window and window sills, doors and frames, walls and floors, stairs, porches, fences, in dirt around the outside of windowsills, some toys, some hand painted dishes, battery casings, some folk medicine, & some imported pottery and porcelain.
