WIC Breastfeeding: Who Are We?
WIC Breastfeeding is part of the Arkansas WIC program. Its goal is to promote and support breastfeeding statewide.
What Services Does Arkansas WIC Breastfeeding Provide?
General Breastfeeding Information
The Breastfeeding Helpline (1-800-445-6175) is answered 8:00-4:30 M-F. Mothers and health professionals can ask questions about breastfeeding problems, medications, and other breastfeeding issues.

Why does Arkansas WIC promote Breastfeeding?
USDA requires each WIC program to:
Provide training on the promotion and management of breastfeeding.
Identify or develop breastfeeding resources and educational materials.
Annually evaluate breastfeeding promotion and support activities.
Establish standards for breastfeeding promotion and support:
- Clinic environments that endorse breastfeeding as the feeding of
  choice.
- Designated persons to coordinate breastfeeding activities.
- Orientation for all employees.
- Promotion of breastfeeding to all pregnant women.
- Designated WIC funds for breastfeeding promotion and support.
