Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)

Eligibility
Pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants, and children under age five are eligible for WIC if they:

image Meet Income Guidelines Guidelines are set at 185% of poverty. Applicants must provide proof of income. Examples of proof of income are: current check stubs, W-2 forms, income tax return for the most recent calendar year, unemployment letter/notice, proof of eligibility of Medicaid, ARKids First, TEA, Food Stamps etc. 
image Are Nutritionally Eligible Conditions such as anemia, certain medical disorders, weight (underweight, overweight, pattern of gain or loss, weight in relation to height, etc.), number and frequency of pregnancies, and inadequate diet are some of the factors considered in a nutritional assessment. A nurse, nutritionist, or physician in the local county health unit performs this assessment.
image Live in Arkansas Applicants must provide proof of residency which can include any one of the following: a current telephone, utility, or cable bill, current mortgage or rent receipt, Medicaid card, proof of Arkansas TEA, food stamps, etc. There is no waiting period to meet the residency requirement.
