Little Rock --Emergency medical services professionals from across the nation will
gather in Little Rock for five days of programs and meetings designed to keep members
prepared to face the challenges of dealing with disasters of all kinds.
Opening ceremonies will be Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. in Salon A
(Ballroom Level) of the Peabody Hotel. The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Trauma
Systems Section of the Arkansas Department of Health will host the 2009 National
Association of State Emergency Medical Services Officials (NASEMSO) annual meeting.
Topics at the forefront of discussions include: communications, National EMS Scope of
Practice, access to trauma centers, and current issues and trends in trauma and emergency
care.
NASEMSO is the lead national organization for emergency medical services (EMS), a
respected voice for national EMS policy with comprehensive concern and commitment for the
development of effective, integrated, community-based, universal and consistent EMS
systems.
