Consumer Product Safety Commission HOTLINE at 1-800-638-CPSC. If you have a product
complaint or want to report a product-related injury, you will speak directly to a Hotline

| Yes, the Poison Control
Center's HOTLINE number is 1-800-3POISON. It is staffed by the College of Pharmacy at
UAMS. Always store household cleaners, medicines, and vitamins out of young kids' reach. |

Child Restraints in Arkansas |
Must be in child restraint - An approved child safety seat is required for children 5 years and younger and less than 60 pounds.
An adult safety belt is permissible for children ages 6 through 14 years or 60+ pounds
Maximum fine 1st offense is $100. The law states no preference for rear seat.
Primary seat belt law went into effect June 30, 2009
Act 308 of 2009, which changes the state's seat belt law from a secondary to a primary offense, goes into effect today. The change means that law enforcement officers can stop and ticket you specifically for not wearing a belt ($25 fine). |

| Install smoke detectors on
every level of your home, inside each bedroom, and outside each bedroom area. The chances
of dying in a fire are cut in half by the presence of a working smoke detector. Test your
smoke detector once a month and change the batteries at least once a year. |

What is a safe temperature for my hot water
heater? |
| Water heaters should be set
no higher than 120 F to prevent scald burns. If your water heater does not have a degrees
control, set your water heater at low or warm. |
